Pause & Pose: Dolphin Plank

Pause & Pose: Dolphin Plank

Dolphin Plank is the ultimate, do-anywhere pose.  It's an easy one for beginners, but remains a great strengthening pose for expert yogis, too. Follow the simple instructions from our own Jessica James to give it a try!

Dolphin Plank

Makara Adho Mukha Svanasana

Level 1

Benefits:

Dolphin Plank is truly a strength building yoga pose. It helps strengthen your core and your shoulders, while stretching your calves, ankles, and the arches of your feet. This pose is an amazing way to get strong without taxing your wrists!

Honest Tip:

Be sure to stack your shoulders directly over your elbows in this pose. Don't let your arms do all the work! Get your legs working while lifting the heads of your thighbones up and reaching through your heels. Pull your belly button towards your spine to engage your core, and do your best to keep the natural low curve in your low back! If it's a challenge to breathe smoothly in this pose, rest your head on a block for support.

Now go pause, pose, and find peace.
