Here at Honest, our mission is to empower people to live happy + healthy lives. We believe that even the smallest actions can lead to big differences. Each year we take off one day to volunteer together – our “Day of Purpose”, and this year we’re taking volunteering virtual!
Our team is volunteering with five different organizations that help + support our local communities. There are numerous ways to make an impact. We invite you to learn more about them + consider lending your time to a worthy cause.
Practicing social distancing doesn’t have to mean there aren’t ways to give back to your community. This is the perfect time to find an organization that’s close to your heart and help improve the lives of others. Below, we’ve outlined a few ways that we’re getting involved this season, as well as some ways you can help.
Adopt-A-Child
Honest is adopting children for the holidays through our official charity partner, Baby2Baby, to provide much-needed basic essentials + holiday gifts to the kids who need them most.
Consider making a donation to Baby2Baby by clicking HERE to help provide basic essentials to children living in poverty or check out their national network list to find a like-minded organization in your city that you can support.
Neighborhood Clean Up
Honest is volunteering with Heal The Bay, an environmental advocacy group that focuses on protecting the coastal waters + watersheds of southern California, to pick up trash in our local neighborhoods and learn about environmental justice.
Consider making a donation to Heal the Bay by clicking HERE to help keep Los Angeles beaches clean or set up a group cleanup in your own neighborhood! Grab a few friends and hit the streets, the park or the beach to pick up trash + stop it from making its way into the ocean.
Mock Interviews
We’re partnering up with St. Joseph Center, a non-profit organization that provides resources + tools to underprivileged members of the community, to facilitate mock interviews with underserved women who are pursuing jobs in the technology sector.
Consider making a donation to St. Joseph Center by clicking HERE to provide low-income families and individuals with the tools they need to become self-supporting members of the community. You can also reach out to your local nonprofit organizations to learn about the programs they provide and the different ways you can volunteer.
Gratitude Gifts
Honest is creating gratitude gifts with March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of mothers and babies, to show our appreciation for the healthcare workers.
Consider making a donation to March of Dimes by clicking HERE to fund advocacy + education around maternal and infant health issues or pack gratitude gifts of your own for your local hospital! Anything as small as a thank you note will show your appreciation to the frontline healthcare workers who take care of our communities.
Packing Lunches
We’re packing lunches for youth experiencing homelessness at the Safe Place For Youth’s access center, which provides a continuum of care for at-risk youth in our community.
Consider making a donation to Safe Place For Youth by clicking HERE or reach out to local shelters + food pantries in your area to learn how you can provide meals to the individuals they serve.
Volunteering is a valuable and rewarding experience + a great way to show support for a worthwhile cause, people in need, and your local community. Despite these challenging times, there are many ways to get involved + stay involved throughout the year.
