Ah, spring. The season of newness is here and that’s reason enough to try something new with your makeup routine. Odds are you’ll be leaving your house a bit more this season than last, taking advantage of the longer, sunshine-filled days, and getting the chance to show off a fresh face. So, why not embrace the season’s latest trends for your big debut?

If you’re ready to add some new techniques or hues to your bag of beauty tricks, we’ve got just the inspiration you need. These are the spring makeup trends you can expect to see and should surely take a crack at.

Statement Lipstick

If your state has lifted the mask mandate when you’re outdoors, highlight your pearly whites once again with nothing other than a brightly colored lipstick. Embrace a pink lip or a red lip or a coral-orange lip if you’d like—any bright color will do. When you’re going with bright lips for an outing, we think a matte lipstick is the best way to show off the bold hue. Yours can stay all day (even under a mask) when you use a long-lasting formula such as our liquid lipstick. Whether you go with “Goddess,”“Fearless,”or “Love” the choice is yours, and you can’t go wrong.

Winged Eyeliner

It’s the makeup trend that will never die, and why should it when it makes our eyes look brighter and more wide awake? Stick to a simple, slight cat eye with just a flick of the wand, or channel your inner makeup artist and opt for a mod double-winged lid. Whether you go subtle or bold, get the most precise, smudge-free line with our hyper-pigmented Black Liquid Eyeliner. If it’s your first time trying out this look we even share how to do winged eyeliner.

Au Natural

What’s more fitting for spring than a fresh natural face? This look isn’t so much about going bare but using minimal makeup and light coverage to show off your natural skin tone and texture. To achieve it, start with a tinted moisturizer, using a light hand or sponge to apply a thin layer of coverage that will let your natural complexion shine through. This one primes, moisturizes, and protects the skin against both sunlight and blue light, making it perfect for any day, whether it’s spent on zoom meetings or running around town.

Add a bit of brightening under-eye cream to combat any dark circles and you’re just about finished. Complete the look with a hint of shimmering highlighter to your cheekbone areas using a bit of our multipurpose moisturizing stick—Magic Beauty Balm Stick. It will give you just the right amount of glow you need to get the dewy skin look you’re looking for.

Colorful Eyeshadow

If you’ve always wanted to wear colorful eyeshadow, but never quite dared to, now’s the time! Say “yes” to one of spring’s most popular trends and stand out above your mask with eyes that pop. Reach for a palette full of pigments from orange to pink to green. The bright hues are a perfect complement to the season. If you’re not quite ready for technicolor eye makeup, simply try reaching for a shade just slightly out of your comfort zone. You may just surprise yourself with how much you love it.

A Glossy Lip

Embrace the 90s renaissance with a return to lip gloss. Nothing makes for a pretty pout quite like a glossy lip, don’t you think? This is one of the easiest spring makeup looks to try; simply swipe on your favorite gloss (this one nourishes, hydrates, and plumps) and go.

Skin Forward

Just like we learned the power of a good sweatsuit to make us feel good this year, we learned how to feel comfortable in our own skin. Largely due to a focus on self-care, we’ve spent a lot more time perfecting our skincare rituals. All the extra attention we’ve paid to our skin has paid off, so why hide it? From this, skinmalism was born; the makeup-free, skin-forward spring makeup trend.

That’s right, you can leave your house sans makeup and not feel an ounce of shame. Enhance your radiant skin with a glowy primer if you’d like, and add a touch of magic beauty balm to soften your lips.

Big Lashes

Let your lashes take center stage this season by giving them a swipe or two of volumizing mascara. Better yet, start with a coat of Lash Primer to enhance the look and longevity of your favorite formula. If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, coat your lashes in color instead. Yes, you read that right, colored mascara is here for spring, and this trend is sure to turn heads.

Bold Brows

One trend from the 90s that’s not coming back? Overplucked brows. Bold, bushy, natural brows are always the way to go, but especially this spring. Add volume and shape to your brows with a brow gel, but first, start with a pencil to fill in any sparse areas and add fullness. When you go over your pencil handiwork with a brow gel, the result will be a bold-looking brow that stays put. For additional tips, check out our blog article on how to shape your eyebrows.
